ARM & BEARING AS-LIFT 2318177 - Caterpillar

ACTION REQUIRED
1) Loosen the existing 231-9164 Quick Connector from the 200-4105 Connector Assembly.
2) Replace the 4K-1388 Seal-O-Ring which is part of the 200-4105 Connector Assembly.
3) Mount the same 231-9164 Quick Connector and tighten to a torque of 250 Nm.
4) Tighten the 2P-1293 Locknut to a torque of 91 Nm.
5) Repeat steps 1 thru 4 for the other side of the Actuator Clamshell Arrangement.

The 231-9164 Quick Connector needs to be retightened on the products listed below. The existing 231-9164 Quick Connector can become loose due to an incorrect tightening torque during assembly. This can cause an unexpected hydraulic oil leak between the 231-9164 Quick Connector and the 200-4105 Connector Assembly. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 06Oct2008 when scheduling this service.
