Rework Procedure
Remove quick coupler to perform the following reworks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, UENR2333, "299D and 299D XHP Compact Track Loaders and 272D and 272D XHP Skid Steer Loaders Machine Systems".

Location of cotter pins
Remove the actuator by removing the two cotter pins that connect the actuator to the link. Refer to Illustration 1.Note: Components have been hidden in the Image for clarification
Remove the links by first removing the cotter pin. Refer to Illustration 1.
Pull the retaining pin at the top of the link assembly and remove the link.
Repeat for the link on the other side.

The shaded area must be ground or cut away by torch. Remove the material shown in Illustration 2.

Location of tabs
Remove the two tabs highlighted in Illustration 3. Reposition 8 mm (0.31 inch) upward.

Location of holes
Slot the holes highlighted in Illustration 4, 5 mm (0.20 inch) upwards.

Install the new links from the kit.Note: The links are now retained to the coupler with a bolt instead of a pin. Refer to Illustration 4.
Torque Locknut (13) to 30 7 N m (22.1 5.2 lb ft).

(17) Hard Washer
Connect actuator to the links. A Hard Washer (17) must be installed forward of the actuator. Refer to Illustration 6.Note: The new actuator should be installed such that motor is positioned above the rod.
Install the coupler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, UENR2333, "299D and 299D XHP Compact Track Loaders and 272D and 272D XHP Skid Steer Loaders Machine Systems".
