Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before installation, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.
Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Position final drive oil filter base (3) and the O-ring seals for installation onto the rear axle housing.
Use four bolts (10), two clips (9) and the hard washers in order to install final drive oil filter base (3) and the O-ring seals onto the rear axle housing, as shown.
Tighten two nuts (7) (not shown) in order to connect wire harness (8) to filter bypass switch (6).

If necessary, tighten housing (4) until the shoulder of housing (4) contacts the bottom of final drive oil filter base (3).

Use two people in order to position guard (1) for installation. The weight of guard (1) is 28 kg (61 lb). Use four bolts (2) in order to install guard (1) onto the rear axle housing.
