Check the Status of the Initial Problem
Note: When connector contacts or cable lugs require cleaning, do not use solvents or detergents. Use clean air to remove dry contaminants. Use isopropyl alcohol or a solution that contains at least 90 percent isopropyl alcohol to clean the contacts.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect and inspect the machine harness 70-pin control circuit connectors and the mating connectors on the Power Inverter and the A4P1 modules on the Motors. Look for signs of moisture or contamination. Ensure that all of the sockets fully seated and locked in place in each connector body. The connector contacts should be clean, moisture-free, and in good condition. Check the seals around the connector body. Make sure that the seals are not damaged, soft, and fully intact.
Ensure that the pins on the Power Inverter and Motor connectors are clean and in good condition. Ensure that the pins are not bent and are properly oriented.
Reconnect the machine harness 70-pin control circuit connector to the Power Inverter connector and securely tighten the retaining bolt.
Reconnect the two machine harness 70-pin control circuit connectors to the A4P1 Motor Control Modules and securely tighten the retaining bolt.
Secure and tighten the bolt for the harness retainer clamp only after the 70 pin connectors are connected.
Inspect the 3-pin DC Power Bus cable connector. The connector pins and the sockets on the Inverter mating connector should be clean, dry and in good condition. Reconnect the 3-pin DC Power Bus cable connector to the Power Inverter connector. The correct tightening torque for the DC Bus connector is 10.5 .3 N m (7.7 0.2 lb. ft.).Note: When reconnecting the AC conductors and installing the cover plates on the enclosure, ensure that the O-ring seal is properly positioned in the seal groove. Use Krytox GPL-205 (213-9121) to lubricate the O-ring so the seal remains positioned in the groove as the cover plate is installed. If Krytox is not available, use a petroleum-based product such as petroleum jelly or lithium grease to hold the seal in the groove. A light film of oil on the inside surface of the cover plate will help ensure that the O-ring remains in position as the plate is installed.
Inspect the three phase drive motor conductor lugs and the three phase Generator conductor lugs. The cable lugs and the mating Power Inverter contacts in the enclosures must be clean and dry before connection.
Reinstall the O-ring seals, the three phase conductors, and the gland seal enclosure covers and on the enclosures for the drive motors and the Generator. Connect all of the Drive Motor three phase connections and the Generator three phase connections. Make sure that the cable lugs are seated completely against the power terminals when tightening the nuts. Failure to have full contact can result with damage to the inverter, motor, and/or generator. Tighten and torque the conductor lug nuts before the gland seal mounting plate bolts. Standard torque will be used for the lug connectors:
M8 nuts (Motor
