start by:a) remove ripper shank
The ripper beam (carriage) and ripper frame can move when the hydraulic cylinders are disconnected or removed. To prevent bodily injury, put correct blocks or stands under the ripper beam (carriage) and ripper frame as support for the weight. Hydraulic oil that is under pressure and hot can cause bodily injury. Move the control lever to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system. Slowly loosen the cap to release any pressure in the hydraulic tank. Let the hydraulic oil become cool before any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
1. Put blocks under the ripper frame (2) and put tooling (A) in position under the ripper beam (carriage) (1). Lower the weight of the ripper on to tooling (A). 2. Disconnect ripper tilt cylinder hoses (3) and (4) at the ripper tilt cylinder.3. Fasten tool (B) to the cylinder rod end (top) port and fasten a hoist to the cylinder (5). 4. Remove bolts (6) and pin (7). 5. Remove plate (9) and pin (8) to disconnect the tilt cylinder from the ripper mount.6. Remove the tilt cylinder from the machine. The weight of the tilt cylinder is 122 kg (270 lb.).Install Ripper Tilt Cylinders
1. Fasten tool (B) to the threaded hole at the rod end cylinder port. Fasten a hoist to cylinder (1), put cylinder in position and install pin (2) and plate. 2. Install pin (3) through the ripper frame and tilt cylinder. Install the bolts to hold pin (3) in position. 3. Connect ripper hyraulic hoses (5) and (4) to the ripper tilt cylinder (1) ports.
