Start By:
Remove the bottom guard.
Remove the track roller frame.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.

Remove bolts (1), washers (2), and cover (3).

Use Tooling (A) to raise the front corner of the machine that is opposite of the side that is being worked on.

Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) to equalizer bar (4).

Use Tooling (C) to remove pin (5) (not shown).

Remove bolt (6).

Use Tooling (D) to remove pin assembly (7).

Reposition equalizer bar (4) and reposition the suitable lifting device.
Remove equalizer bar (4). The weight of equalizer bar (4) is approximately 227 kg (500 lb).

Remove spacer (8) and lip-type seal (9). Repeat for the opposite side.

Use Tooling (E) to remove bushings (10) (not shown).

Remove four seals (11).

Use Tooling (F) to remove retaining rings (12).
Use Tooling (G) to remove bearings (13).Installation Procedure
Install equalizer bar (4) in the reverse order of removal.
Use Tooling (H) to install bearings (13).
Use Tooling (J) to install four seals (11).
Use Tooling (K) to install bushings (10).
Use Tooling (J) to install seal (9) and spacer (8). Repeat for the opposite side.
Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 270 40 N m (199 30 lb ft).
