Keep the engine speed low until the engine oil pressure registers on the gauge or until the engine oil indicator light goes out.If it does not register or the light does not go out within ten seconds, stop the engine and investigate the cause before starting again. Failure to do so, can cause engine damage.
After you start the engine on the FAST throttle position, move the throttle switch to the SLOW position.
Warm up the engine at LOW IDLE for at least five minutes.
Look at the gauges and the indicator lights frequently during operation.If there is any indication of a problem, inspect the machine for the cause of the problem. Before you move the machine, repair all problems.
Cycle all controls in order to allow warm oil to circulate through all of the lines and the cylinders.While you idle the engine for warm-up, observe the following recommendations:
If the temperature is greater than 0° C (32° F), warm up the engine for approximately 15 minutes.
If the temperature is less than 0° C (32° F), warm up the engine for approximately 30 minutes.
If the temperature is less than - 18°C (0°F) or if hydraulic functions are sluggish, additional time may be required.
