Installing The New Dryer In Place Of The Former Dryer Without Discharging The System
1. Check the system for correct operation and for leaks. If you find any leaks, repair them, install the new dryer, and evacuate and recharge the system. Disregard the rest of this procedure.2. If no leaks are found, disconnect the inlet fitting of the former dryer.3. With the engine at low idle, run the air conditioner for one minute. This will pump most of the refrigerant out of the former dryer.4. Disconnect outlet fitting on former dryer.5. Stop the engine immediately.6. Connect the outlet fitting of the new dryer to the line.7. Wait several minutes to permit the pressure to equalize. (This makes Step 8 much easier.)8. Connect the inlet fitting of the new dryer to the line.
