1. Put identification marks on seven wires (1) as to their location on the electric starting motor. Disconnect the wires from the electric starting motor. 2. Fasten tool (A) and a hoist to electric starting motor (3) as shown. Remove three bolts (2) that hold the electric starting motor to the flywheel housing. Remove the electric starting motor and gasket from the flywheel housing. The weight of the electric starting motor is 23 kg (50 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the electric starting motor.3. Check the condition of the gasket used between the electric starting motor and the flywheel housing. If the gasket is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement. Install the electric starting motor in the reverse order of removal.
