PRODUCT SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING THE HIGH PRESSURE PUMP ON CERTAIN C9 ENGINES INSTALLED IN MASS TRANSIT BUSES

This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS43300" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

This Revised Service Letter replaces the 02 June 2011 (Revised 22 June 2011) Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Parts Needed and Service Claim Allowances.

PROBLEM
The existing high pressure pump may fail on engines installed in mass transit buses. If the existing high pressure pump fails it may cause a check engine light to illuminate.

ACTION REQUIRED
Replace the high pressure fuel pump with a remanufactured high pressure fuel pump. Refer to RENR9708, Disassembly and Assembly.
