This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI1250" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI1250" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the July 26, 1994 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Affected Product, Parts Needed, and Rework Procedure.
Problem
The welds on the 8C9245 ROPS Canopy Group (5E9967 ROPS Group) cross tube roof supports may crack on certain CB534 Compactors.

This Program only applies to units equipped with an 8C9245 ROPS Canopy Group (5E9967 ROPS Group). Records indicate the only units equipped by the factory with the 8C9245 ROPS Canopy Group are:
2YF30, 32, 34, 41-44, 48.
However, if an 8C9245 ROPS Canopy Group (5E9967 ROPS Group) was installed by the dealer after the machine was delivered from the factory, this program applies.
Parts Needed
Dealers will need to order parts for this Program.
16 - 8T5361 Washer14 - 7X0403 Bolt2 -7X0404 Bolt2 - 1166813 Tube-OR-1 - 1023526 ROPS Group If, after inspection, it is determined that the ROPS canopy can be repaired, order the individual parts in the first list. If, after inspection, it is determined the ROPS canopy cannot be repaired, order a new 1023526 ROPS Group.

Rework Procedure
1. Remove the existing 5E9967 ROPS from machine.2. Remove the two canopy roof support cross beams. Carefully inspect ROPS for cracks. Identify any cracks and repair using Special Instructions, SEHS6929, "Inspection, Maintenance And Repair Of ROPS". If the existing ROPS support legs are cracked and cannot be repaired following the Special Instructions, replace with a new 1023526 ROPS Group.
3. Locate and weld two new 1166813 Tubes to canopy roof as shown in the attached Illustration.4. Remove weld slag, clean metal, prime and paint the welded areas after repair.5. Install ROPS on machine using 14 new 7X0403 Bolts, two new 7X0404 Bolts, and 16 new 8T5361 Washers. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 900 100 N m (660 75 lb ft).6. Verify machine vibrations per minute (VPM). Maximum VPM should be 2550 50 VPM.7. Verify that engine high idle is 2350 50 RPM.
