Remove the crankcase drain plug and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. After draining the oil, clean the drain plug and clean the plug hole. Install the drain plug.

Remove the filter element with a filter wrench.
Clean the filter mounting base with a clean cloth. Make sure that the old filter gasket has been removed.
Apply a thin film of clean engine oil to the sealing surface of the new filter element.
Install the new filter element by hand. When the gasket contacts the filter base, tighten the filter for an additional three quarters of a turn.

Remove the oil filler plug (2). Fill the crankcase with new oil. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)". Clean the oil filler plug and install the oil filler plug.
Start the engine and operate the engine at low idle for several minutes. While the engine is running, check the filter base for oil leaks.
Stop the engine and allow the oil to drain back into the crankcase. Maintain the oil level between the ADD and Full marks on the dipstick (1) .Note: Add 0.80 L (0.8 qt)in order to bring the oil level from the ADD mark to the FULL mark.
Close the engine access door.
