AXLE GP-DRIVE 0837033 - Caterpillar

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.
Note: Perform the following steps before this procedure is conducted:
Park the machine on a smooth horizontal surface.
Place the propulsion control lever in Neutral.
Engage the parking brake.
Stop the engine.Check Procedure

(1) Switch (2) Block (3) Cylinder
Measure the distance between the end of the cylinder (3) and the block (2). The distance should be 190.3 2 mm (7.5 0.08 inch).

Measure the gap between the block (2) and the switch (1). The gap should be 4 .5 mm (0.16 0.02 inch).
Check the alignment of the block (2) and the switch (1). The block and the switch should be parallel.
Adjust the component according to the Adjustment Procedure, if the measurements above are outside the specified range.Adjustment Procedure

Loosen clamp (6) and move the block (2) in order to position the block at the correct distance from the end of the cylinder.
Adjust the position of the block (2) so that the block and the switch (3) are parallel. If necessary, loosen the clamp (7) and move the rod (5) in order to align the block and the switch.
Tighten the clamps (6) and (7) .
Loosen the screws (4) and move the switch (1) in order to attain the specified gap. Tighten the screws.
