At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill cap on the hydraulic oil tank only when the engine is stopped, and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
2. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system by slowly loosening the fill cap located on top of the hydraulic oil tank.3. Disconnect two hydraulic hoses (2) from the steering cylinder. Put plugs in the hoses to keep dirt and debris out of the hydraulic system.4. Remove two bolts (3) and the locknuts that hold the steering cylinder in position. Remove steering cylinder (1). The weight of the steering cylinder is 16 kg (35 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the steering cylinder.
Do not reuse elastic filled locknuts during installation of the steering cylinder. The locknuts should be discarded and replaced with new parts.
5. Install the steering cylinder in the reverse order of removal.6. Lubricate the steering pins, and fill the hydraulic oil tank to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct lubricating and filling procedures.
