Information:
DELAYED ENGINE SHUTDOWN OVERRIDE (1) - Turn the engine key switch to the DELAYED ENGINE SHUTDOWN OVERRIDE position and hold the engine key switch in that position for 1 second to override delayed engine shutdown (DES). The engine will be shut down immediately.Note: Shutting down the engine using this method is considered a hard shutdown which disables the DES.The following machine responses will occur when DELAYED ENGINE SHUTDOWN OVERRIDE is used to stop the engine:
A warning message and/or audible alarm will be initiated and a fault code will be logged for improper engine shutdown if exhaust temperature is above a limit
A fault code will be shown on the Information Display the next time the engine key switch is turned to the ON positionNote: Overriding delayed engine shutdown may reduce engine and machine system component life.
OFF (2) - Inserting the key into the engine key switch and removing the key from the engine key switch must only be done from the OFF position. In the OFF position, there is no power to most electrical circuits in the cab. The gauge and instrument module and the dome light are operational even when the engine key switch is in the OFF position.
ON (3) - Turn the engine key switch clockwise to ON to activate all cab circuits. The backlighting of all buttons, displays, and switches in the cab is activated when this switch is in the ON position.Note: The level of backlighting intensity is selected in the monitoring system display.
START (4) - Turn the engine key switch clockwise to START to crank the engine. Release the key after the engine starts. The key will return to the ON position. The following conditions must be met before the engine key switch will start the engine:
The transmission must be in the NEUTRAL position
The parking brake must be engagedNote: Refer to "Engine Idle Shutdown" in this section for additional information concerning the engine idle shutdown feature (if enabled).Power Receptacle (41)
Power Receptacle - The 12V power receptacle can be used for powering automotive electrical equipment or accessories.Note: Do not use the power receptacle as a lighter for a cigarette.Electronic Technician Service Port / VIMS (42)
Electronic Technician (ET) - This service port allows service personnel to connect a laptop computer to the machine electronics using Cat Electronic Technician. This connection will allow service personnel to interrogate the machine systems and engine systems.
Vital Information Management System (VIMS) Service Port - This service port allows service personnel to interface with VIMS.Rear Service Center
