Emission label rework
No Dealer action is needed for the EPA label,unless the Dealer is on record as the Owner of the machine. Each OwnerNotification Letter includes an Engine Emission Label, and requests thecustomer to apply it to the valve cover on the engine of the Affected Machine.In cases where the Dealer is the machine owner(Dealer inventory, rental fleet, etc.), the Dealer will receive the OwnerNotification Letter, and is expected to install the label. If unit hasbeen sold, and the Dealer receives the Owner Notification Letter, the Dealeris expected to inform the Customer and forward the Owner Notification Letterand label for the Customer to install. For any EPA questions, Dealers maycall Product Support 309-578-4604.Tamper resistant bolt reworkNote: Please verify the factory fuel settinghas not been tampered with by checking the factory seal and lock wire.If the seal and wire are intact, proceed with the following steps. If theseal is broken, contact Tony King 309-578-4604 at Caterpillar for additionalinformation.
Remove the 5P6945 Bolt and 5P0537 Washer fromthe 1115162 Fuel Ratio Control Group and install a 1287794 Tamper ResistantBolt and reuse the washer.
Remove the 6V5894 Bolt and 5P0537 Washer fromthe 1288806 Fuel Pump Group, and install a 1287796 Tamper Resistant Boltreusing the washer.
Tighten the bolt until the head shears off (approximately12 N m).
Install lock wire through the holes in the tamperresistant bolts and attach dealer seal.
