SAE J1939 (CAN) Datalink circuit confectionsA CID 0967 FMI 09 is recorded when the Scraper Transmission ECM receives information about the harness code from the operator Monitoring System. The information indicates that the "Serial Number" for the machine has changed during machine operation. That type of information, received during machine operations, cannot be correct.Probable causes for the diagnostic are:
Incorrect software, or hardware, Part Numbers.
Poor machine harness electrical connections.r
A SAE J1939 Datalink circuit shorted to ground.
A SAE J1939 Datalink circuit shorted to +Battery.
Open SAE J1939 Datalink circuit.Note: Poor connections are often the cause of a problem in electrical circuits. Before performing this procedure, inspect all the machine harnesses and connectors involved in the circuit. Make sure to verify that all of the connections in the circuit are clean, secure, and in good condition. Correct any problems found with any of the connections. Verify the diagnostic code CID 0967 FMI 09 is still active, before continuing with this procedure.Note: This test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore all those created diagnostic codes now, but clear those codes after the cause for the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Test Step 1. VERIFY HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE PART NUMBERS.
Verify the "Part Number" is correct for:
Scraper Transmission ECM Software.
Scraper Transmission ECM.
Cab Monitoring System Software.
Cab Monitoring System module.Expected Result:Consult the Business Unit that is producing the product for the correct configuration for the machine.Results:
YES - All "Part Number"s are correct. Go to Test Step 2.
NO - All of the part numbers are NOT correct. Repair: One of the modules that are listed above may have the wrong part number and/or the software configuration is NOT correct. See Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Flash Program". Go to test step 8.Test Step 2. CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL RELATED DIAGNOSTIC CODES.
Ensure that all electronic control modules that use the Cat data link are connected.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Acknowledge any active diagnostic codes that are currently displayed on the message center.
Verify that no other related, and active, diagnostic codes are present. Expected Result:No other related, and active, diagnostic codes are present. Results:
YES - No other related active diagnostic codes are present, but CID 0967 FMI 09 is still active. Go to test step 4.
NO - Other related active diagnostic codes are present, and CID 0967 FMI 09 is still active. Go to test step 3.Test Step 3. CLEAR ALL ACTIVE RELATED DIAGNOSTIC CODES.
Perform all required Test Procedures to clear all other related, active diagnostic codes.Expected Result:All related active diagnostic codes are cleared, and CID 0967 FMI 09 is no longer active.Results:
YES - All other related active diagnostic codes are cleared, and CID 0967 FMI 09 is no longer active.Repair: The diagnostic codes do not exist at this time. Return the machine to normal operations.STOP
NO - All other related active diagnostic codes are cleared, but CID 0967 FMI 09 is still active. Go to test step 4.Test Step 4. INSPECT THE HARNESS CONNECTIONS.
