The Marketing bulletin, PEGJ0075-00 used to cross reference Cat parts to Loctite® products, incorrectly cross references the thermal compound used for electric screed heat to a Loctite® product. Part 5P-8937 Heat Sink Compound ( 186-1529 Thermal Joint Compound in EAME) incorrectly states to use Loctite® silicone lubricant in a 156.9 mL (5.3 oz) container. Dealers and customers servicing electric screed heat elements should continue to use the 5P-8937 Heat Sink Compound ( 186-1529 Thermal Joint Compound in EAME). The 5P-8937 Heat Sink Compound ( 186-1529 Thermal Joint Compound in EAME) is for the thermal compound between the heater element and the screed plate. Do not use a Loctite® product for the thermal compound between the heater element and the screed plate.Solution
Continue to use 5P-8937 Heat Sink Compound ( 186-1529 Thermal Joint Compound in EAME) to service electric screed heat systems. These parts will continue to be available in the parts system. All product from the factory uses the correct thermal compound.
