Bolt head markings on new and acceptable nozzle ring bolts.--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------ABB turbochargers with serial numbers prior to 396659 must have the eight turbocharger nozzle ring bolts replaced with new higher grade 8C-8581 Bolts unless the bolts have already been replaced with acceptable bolts. The illustration shows the bolt head markings of the new and acceptable replacement bolts. Bolts with these markings DO NOT need to be replaced. These eight bolts should checked and replaced if necessary at the next occasion of turbocharger maintenance or inspection. Once the nozzle ring bolts have been replaced by the new bolt, future replacement should be unnecessary. If the nozzle ring bolts, in ABB turbochargers in the given serial number range, can not be identified as one of the bolts in the illustration, replacement with new 8C-8581 Bolts is recommended.
