To prevent possible personal injury, make sure all the pressure is released from the air system before any lines are disconnected.
1. Open the air drain valves on the right side of the cab, and release the air pressure in the system. 2. Remove the clip holding arm (1) to windshield wiper motor (2).3. Remove air lines (3) from the motor.4. Remove the four bolts holding the motor to the panel.5. Remove the wiper motor.Install Windshield Wiper Motor
1. Position windshield wiper motor (2), and install the four bolts that hold it in place.2. Connect arm (1) to the wiper motor with the clip. Connect the air lines to the wiper motor at the correct locations.3. Close the air drain valves.END BY:a. install cab front coverDisassemble Windshield Wiper Motor
START BY:a. remove windshield wiper motor 1. Remove the screws that hold valve body (1) to the wiper motor. Remove valve body (1). Remove the two O-ring seals from the motor. 2. Remove end covers (2) and (3) from the valve body.3. Remove shift pin (4) from the valve spool inside the valve body. 4. Remove valve spools (5) and (6) from the valve body. Remove the O-ring seals on the spools. 5. Remove screws (7) and (8). Make a separation of the wiper motor housing. 6. Slide piston (10) from the housing, and remove gear (9). Remove piston (10). The piston guide (not shown) will slide out with the piston. 7. Remove thrust washer (16), nut (14) and spacer (13). Put alignment marks on the gear and arm shaft for correct alignment at installation.8. Remove gear (11) from arm assembly (12). Remove two bushings (15) from each side of the gear. 9. Remove O-ring seals (17) and (18) from the piston. There are no other replacement parts for the piston.Assemble Windshield Wiper Motor
1. Make sure all parts are clean. Inspect all O-ring seals for damage, and make replacements if needed. 2. Install two O-ring seals (1) on the piston. 3. Install bushings (2) and (4) on gear (3). Slide arm assembly (5) into the gear. Make sure the alignment marks are in alignment with each other. 4. Install spacer (6) and the nut that holds the gear to the arm assembly. 5. Install thrust washer (7) against the bushing. 6. Make an alignment of the timing mark on gear (3) with the timing mark on piston (8). Install the piston and gear together in the housing.
Make sure the flats on the bushings are in alignment with the flats in the housing.
7. Install piston guide (10) in the housing.8. Install housing (9) on to housing (11). Install the two screws that hold the two housings together. 9. Install the six O-ring seals on valve spool (13) (white in color). Install valve spool (13) in valve body (12). 10. Install the four O-ring seals on valve spool (14) (black in color). Install valve spool (14) in valve body (12) with the hole
