The 356-1487 Spindles that are being used for the spindle replacement program may vary in appearance due to procurement from various sources.The process difference used by various sources may lead to slight differences in appearance as shown in Illustration 2 and Illustration 3, especially in the bearing surfaces.Solution
Some 356-1487 Spindles may not exhibit the typical dark gray circumferential striping in the bearing journal regions. All these spindles have been properly heat treated to meet or exceed the hardness requirements and are good to use.
