Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and tube assemblies. This helps prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Drain fuel filter (4). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System Primary Filter/Water Seperator - Drain".
Disconnect harness assembly (1) from fuel priming pump (2) .
Disconnect the tube assemblies (not shown) from fuel filter base (3) .
Remove bolts (5) and remove fuel filter base (3) .Installation Procedure

Ensure that the assembly of the fuel priming pump and the fuel filter base is clean and free from damage. If necessary, replace any components that are damaged.

Typical example
Position fuel filter base (3) on the mounting bracket. Install bolts (5) to the fuel filter base. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 35 N m (26 lb ft).
Connect the tube assemblies for the fuel inlet and the fuel outlet (not shown) to fuel filter base (3) .
If necessary, install a new fuel filter (4) to fuel filter base (3). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System Primary Filter/Water Seperator - Drain".
Connect harness assembly (1) to fuel priming pump (2) .
Turn the fuel supply to the ON position.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
Remove the air from the fuel system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime".
