To facilitate removal of the bucket pins without causing damage to the pins, bearings and/or O-ring seals, put the bucket flat on the floor and the stick in a vertical position as shown.
1. Start the machine, and position the bucket, stick and bucket linkage group as shown. It may be necessary to move the stick up and down a small amount to relieve the pressure on bucket pins assemblies (5) and (8) during removal.2. Remove pin assembly retaining bolt (3) and the two washers from bucket pin assembly (5). Remove bucket pin assembly (5).3. Pull link assembly (2) away from bucket (1). Remove two O-ring seals (4). 4. Remove pin assembly retaining bolt (7) and the two washers from bucket pin assembly (8). Remove bucket pin assembly (8). Raise the stick out of the bucket. Remove two O-ring seals (6). The weight of the bucket is 397 kg (875 lb). The following steps are for installation of the bucket.
Make sure the stick pin bore, bucket pin bores, bucket pins, flange and O-ring seals are thoroughly clean prior to installation of the bucket.
5. Check the condition of O-ring seals (4) and (6). If the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.6. Temporarily install an O-ring seal (6) on each side of the stick at the bore for bucket pin assembly (8). Start the machine, and lower the stick into the bucket until the pin bores are in alignment with each other.7. Apply 5P-0960 Multipurpose Grease on bucket pin assembly (8). Install bucket pin assembly (8). Temporarily install the two washers and pin assembly retaining bolt (7).8. Move the bucket to one side until it makes contact with the stick. Measure the clearance between the bucket and stick. Record this dimension. Add shims (minimum of three) between the stick and bucket until the clearance between the stick and bucket is 1.6 mm (.06 in).9. Remove retaining bolt (7), the two washers and bucket pin assembly (8). Install the shim pack determined in Step 8 between the stick and bucket. Reinstall bucket pin assembly (8). Install the two washer and pin assembly retaining bolt (7). Tighten pin assembly retaining bolt (7) to a torque of 325 40
