Electrical Checks
If the front or rear vibratory system fails to operate in both HIGH or LOW amplitude, perform the following steps to check the electrical circuits.
Instrument Panel
(1) Fuse. (2) Front vibratory control switch. (3) Rear vibratory control switch.1. Check fuse (1) on the instrument panel. If the fuse blows frequently, determine cause and repair.2. Check the ground connection for the solenoids in the vibratory control valves. Secure the ground connection if necessary.3. Use a voltmeter to check whether 12 volts is available at fuse (1). If 12 volts is not available, check the wiring from the fuse to the ignition system. Repair or replace faulty wiring or components.4. Check the lock-out switch (connected to the propel lever on the right side of the machine). Switch must be open when the propel lever is in the center/stop position, and closed when the propel lever is moved to FORWARD or REVERSE. Adjust the position of the switch if necessary, or replace if damaged.5. Check the on/off switches (located on the propel levers). Make sure the wiring is secure and the switches operate correctly.6. Check both vibratory control switches (2) and (3). Make sure the wiring is secure and the switches operate correctly.7. Use an ohmmeter to measure the electrical resistance of the solenoids (located on the vibratory control valves). Each solenoid should measure about 7 ohms. If resistance is incorrect, the coils should be replaced.
