Some 3E8848 Sensors with date codes prior to 0158 (15th day of 1998) may have quality problems related to the coils. These sensors need to be removed from dealer Parts Stock.
Action Required
All 3E8848 Sensors with date codes prior to (less than) 0158 (the 15th day of 1998) need to be removed from dealer Parts Stock. To read the date code, look at the tag on the harness sleeve. The date code is a combination of the Julian Date, and the year the sensor was manufactured.
Format DDDY E.G. 0158=January 15, 1998 or the 15th day of 1998.
Service Claim Allowances
Submit one claim for all 3E8848 Sensors with date codes prior to (less than) 0158 that are removed from dealer Parts Stock.
Parts Disposition
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
