Apply Tooling (J) to the surface of cage (21). Install the pinion assembly into the swing drive housing. Install bolts (19). Tighten bolts (19) to a torque of 33 3 N m (24 2 lb ft).

Turn over the swing drive housing. The weight of the swing drive housing is approximately 48 kg (105 lb).
Install spacers (17) and (16) onto pinion shaft (18) .

Install washers (14), bearing (13), gear (12) and shaft (11) into the lower planetary carrier.
Repeat Step 8 for the remaining gears.

Use a suitable press and Tooling (C) and (K) and install bearing (15) onto the lower planetary carrier.

Apply a thin coat of oil onto both sides of the bearings. Be sure to align hole (10) in the lower planetary carrier with the pin in the pinion shaft. Use a suitable press and Tooling (C) and install the lower planetary carrier into the swing drive housing.

Install bolt (8). Tighten bolt (8) to a torque of 312 20 N m (230 15 lb ft). Check the rolling torque. The rolling torque should be 3 1 N m (2 1 lb ft). Change spacers (16) and (17) in order to obtain the proper rolling torque. Apply Tooling (L) to the threads of bolt (8) .

Apply Tooling (J) to the top of the swing drive housing and install ring gear (9) .

Install sun gear (7) .

Install shaft (3), bearing (4), gear (5), and washers (6) into the upper planetary carrier.
Repeat Step 15 for the remaining gears.

Install pin (2) into the upper planetary carrier.
Repeat Step 17 for the remaining pins.

Install upper planetary carrier (1) into the swing drive housing.
Apply Tooling (J) onto the top of the ring gear and install the swing motor onto the swing drive. The weight of the swing motor is approximately 41 kg (90 lb). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 122 12 N m (90 9 lb ft).
Fill the swing motor and swing drive assembly with oil. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Swing Drive Oil - Change" for the proper procedure.End By: Install the swing motor and swing drive onto the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swing Motor and Swing Drive - Install".
