Replacement Procedure
Brace the loader lift arms in the upward position by following the Operations and Maintenance Manual, "Loader Lift Air Brace Operation" in the maintenance section.
Tilt the cab by following the Operations and Maintenance Manual, "Cab Tilting" in the maintenance section.

Remove the four bolts for the heater and the air conditioning unit.

Remove the clip and the clamp from the lines that are running to the unit. There is one clip for the heater lines and one clamp for the refrigerant lines.
Slide the HVAC unit to the rear of the machine to allow the room to access the accelerator pedal linkage.

Lift the HVAC unit and tilt the HVAC unit. Remove the electrical connector for the accelerator pedal.

Rest the unit on one side. Secure the unit with a strap or a block.
Unplug the connector from the actuator.

Remove the three screws and the three spacers from the existing actuator.

Remove the actuator from the water valve. When you remove the actuator, ensure that the drive tang for the water valve is not damaged or that the drive tang is not broken.Note: Use channel locks to move the water valve assembly upward to remove the actuator from the water valve. Place one jaw on the top plate of the unit and place the other jaw under the bracket for the water valve. Gently, move the water valve upward until there is enough room to remove the actuator.

Position the drive tang on the water valve so that the three lines on the flat side of the tang line up with the flats on the actuator.Note: Do not try to change the position of the actuator. Doing so will strip the gears.

Install a 279-0850 Actuator with the existing three screws and the three spacers.

Make a note of the wire positions on the existing connector. Cut off the existing connector for the actuator.
Strip the wires. Crimp a 9X-3402 Connector Socket onto each of the three wires with the 239-5260 Crimp Tool.Note: Use the wire crimper on the 16 to 18 gauge setting to install the sockets.

Install the wire from the position A "GN" in the existing connector into the position 2 of the 155-2271 Connecting Plug Kit.
Install the wire from the position C "BK" in the existing connector into the position 4 of the 155-2271 Connecting Plug Kit.
Install the wire from the position D "PU" in the existing connector into the position 1 of the 155-2271 Connecting Plug Kit.
Install a 8T-8737 Seal Plug into position 3 of the 155-2271 Connecting Plug Kit.
Install the wedge into the end of the connector.
Plug the connector into the actuator. Push the connector onto the actuator until the connector clicks. Pull on the connector to ensure that the connector is fully seated.
Remove any blocking or straps. Position the unit for installation.
Plug in the connector for the accelerator pedal. Lower the unit into position. Refer to illustration 3.Note: Ensure that all the wires and all the
