Hot engine oil can cause personal injury if it contacts the skin. Use caution when draining the oil.
1. Drain the engine oil into a suitable container.2. Remove four bolts (2).3. Remove engine oil filter (4) and oil filter base (3) as a unit. Check two gaskets (1) for wear or damage. Replace if necessary. Check filter base for clogging or cracks. Keep engine oil filter and filter bracket upright until the engine oil can be drained into a suitable container.
Be sure all surfaces are free of the old gasket material before beginning installation of the engine oil filter base.
For installation of the engine oil filter and oil filter base, reverse the removal steps.4. If engine oil filter was removed, apply engine oil to the gasket when installing filter. Use Tool (A) if the engine oil filter is to be removed.Disassemble Engine Oil Filter Base
