Information:
Personal injury or death can result from escaping fluid under pressure.Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue and cause serious injury and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Prepare the machine for testing and adjusting.Reference: Testing and Adjusting, "Preparation for Troubleshooting"
Ensure that the hydraulic oil in the system is at normal operating temperature. To warm the hydraulic oil, operate the feed rollers for several minutes.

Control Valves ( HH500 CWH1-310 Harvester Head) (1) Pressure tap "M2".
If necessary, attach the adapter to the pressure tap (M2) that is mounted on the left manifold. The pressure tap is for the HH300 and HH500 CWH1-310 Harvester Heads. Attach the 198-4240 Digital Pressure Indicator to the pressure tap or the adapter. Set the pressure indicator to the "PSI" setting.

Pressure Tap "P2" on the HH500 CWH311-UP and the HH700 Harvester Heads
If necessary, attach the adapter to the pressure tap (P2) that is mounted on a block below the left manifold. Attach the 198-4240 Digital Pressure Indicator to the pressure tap or the adapter. Set the pressure indicator to the "PSI" setting.

Pressure Reducing ValveThe pressure reducing valve is located on the main valve.
Mark the position of the pressure reducing valve. Loosen the locknut on the pressure reducing valve. Turn the adjustment screw clockwise by one revolution in order to increase the pressure to the felling link. Tighten the locknut.
Close the cover.
Start the engine. Press the operating mode switch in order to activate the working mode (wheel harvesters). Turn the engine speed dial until the engine is operating at 1300 rpm. Make sure that the switch for the controller is in the ON position.
Raise the harvester head approximately 0.6 m (2 ft) above the ground.
Move away from the harvester head.
Do not hold this function or any other function stalled for more than 5 seconds. Hydraulic oil is heated very rapidly when the oil is channeled through relief valves. Component damage could result.
Press the button for TILT DOWN. Read the pressure indicator. Press the button for TILT UP. Read the pressure indicator.
The following line relief pressures are for the felling link.
