Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install pressure pins (36), retaining disc (35), and spring (34) in barrel assembly (31).
Install snap ring (33) on top of spring (34). Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to compress spring (34). Compress until retaining ring (33) can be installed in the groove in barrel assembly (31).

Install retaining ball (32) on barrel assembly (31) and install plate (29) with pistons (30) in barrel assembly (31).

Wrap pistons (30) with string but do not tie the string. Hold the string tight and carefully install rotating group (28) in pump housing (3). The splines on shaft (24) must engage with splines in the retaining ball.

Install shim (27) that was determined in Step 13 onto shaft assembly (24). Install bearing cone (26) and O-ring seals (25).

Install bearing cup (22).
Use Tooling (C) in order to Install plate (23).
Install O-ring seal (21) to charge pump housing (16).

Use Tooling (A) in order to install bearing (20).
Install charge pump housing (16) onto pump housing (3).

Install shaft assembly (19), gear (18), and ring gear (17) into charge pump housing (16).

Use Tooling (A) in order to install bearing (15) into cover (13).
Install O-ring seal (14) into cover (13).

Install spool (4) . retainer (5), spring (6), plug (7), and the O-ring seal.
Install valve (10), gasket (11), plug (8), and seal (9) onto compensator valve (1).

Position the compensator valve (1) on housing (3). Install bolts (2) and tighten to a torque of 12 N m (106 lb in). End By:
Install the transmission oil pump.
