Separate the torque converter from the transmission and output transfer gears.Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Thoroughly clean the exterior of the component before the disassembly procedure. Cleaning will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to transmission (3). The weight of transmission (3) is approximately 363 kg (800 lb).
