This diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM detects the signal of the sensor as being out of calibration.Note: The ECM provides power to the sensor. The sensor does not connect directly to the frame ground. The sensor connects to the return circuit of the ECM. The ECM internally connects the return wire to frame ground. In order to correct this diagnostic code, calibrate the sensor.Test Step 1. CALIBRATION

For 973D, refer to Testing and Adjusting, KENR6528, "Calibration". Expected Result:The calibration procedure was performed successfully.Results:
YES - The calibration procedure was performed successfully. Resume normal machine operation.STOP
NO - The calibration was not successful.Repair: Repeat the calibration procedure for the sensor. For 953D, refer to Testing and Adjusting, KENR5177, "Calibration".
