start by:a) remove pump drive 1. Remove O-ring seals (1) and (3). Inspect and make a replacements if necessary. Remove flow control valve and elbow (2). 2. Remove spray nozzle (4). 3. Remove small splined hub (5). 4. Remove five bolts, then remove cage (6), shims (8) and O-ring seal (7). Inspect the O-ring seal and make a replacement if necessary. 5. Remove race (9) from the cage. 6. Remove bearing cones and gear assembly (10) from the housing. 7. Remove bearing cones (11) and (12) from the gear with tooling (A). 8. Remove six bolts (13) and remove cage (14). 9. Remove bearings and gear assembly (15) from housing. 10. Remove bearing cup (16) from cage (14). Inspect O-ring seal (17) and make a replacement if necessary. 11. Remove bearings (18) from gear with tool (B). 12. Remove four nuts (19) and remove plate and idler shaft assembly (20). Inspect O-ring seal on shaft and make a replacement if necessary. 13. Remove bearing cone (21) from idler gear (22). Remove idler gear (22) from housing. Remove other bearing cone from idler gear (22). 14. Remove small bearing race (23) from housing. Remove large bearing race from housing. 15. Remove bearing cup (24) from idler gear (22).Assemble Pump Drive
1. Lower the temperature of the small cup. Put it in position in the housing then push it down with tool (A) until it is correctly in its seat. 2. Lower the temperature of the large race. Put in position in the housing then push it down with tooling (B) until it is correctly in its seat. 3. Lower temperature of bearing cup. Put it in position in gear and push it down with tool (C) until it is correctly in its seat. 4. Install bearing cone (1) in idler gear (2). Install both gear and bearing into housing. Install other bearing cone from the other side. 5. Install plate and idler shaft assembly (3) into idler gear. Install four nuts that hold plate and idler shaft assembly to housing. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 20 3 lb.ft. (25 4 N m). 6. Heat bearings (4) to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C) and install them on gear (5). Install bearings and gear assembly into housing. 7. Lower the temperature of the bearing cup, then put it in position in the cage with tool (D) and push it down until it is correctly in its seat. 8. Install cage (6) and shims (7) on the housing.

Remove bearing cup (24) from idler gear (22).Assemble Pump Drive

Put it in position in gear and push it down with tool (C) until it is correctly in its seat. 4. Install bearing cone (1) in idler gear (2). Install both gear and bearing into housing. Install other bearing cone from the other side. 5. Install plate and idler shaft assembly (3) into idler gear. Install four nuts that hold plate and idler shaft assembly to housing. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 20 3 lb.ft. (25 4 N m). 6. Heat bearings (4) to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C) and install them on gear (5). Install bearings and gear assembly into housing. 7. Lower the temperature of the bearing cup, then put it in position in the cage with tool (D) and push it down until it is correctly in its seat. 8. Install cage (6) and shims (7) on the housing.
