Release the load and check the position of the bearing. Rotate the bearing support at least five revolutions in each direction.

Apply the load that is specified in table 2 on the bearing. Release the load on the bearing. Install a 4.0 mm (0.157 inch) shim (E) .
Install retaining ring (16) . Apply the load that is specified in table 2 and measure the clearance between the shim and the retaining ring. Determine the shims that are required in order to obtain the correct rotational torque with the load applied.
Remove the load. Remove retaining ring (16). Install the correct combination of shims in order to achieve the measured clearance as defined above.Note: The thickest shim should be installed toward the bearing.
Apply the load that is specified in table 2 on the bearing. Use tooling (B) in order to install retaining ring (16). A new retaining ring (16) must be installed. Do not use the old retaining ring (16) .Note: Be sure that the retaining ring is fully seated into the groove.

Removing clips (14) and pistons (15) from block (13) is not recommended. Replacing the entire block assembly for the rotor, instead of replacing a single piston (15) is recommended. If clips (14) are removed, the clips must be replaced.

Note: Install a rubber band around block (13) in order to hold the pistons in block (13) .
Install O-ring seal (13A). Install block (13). Remove the rubber band from block (13) .

Note: Ensure that cam (12) is positioned in the same orientation on the upper side and lower side as it was marked in the disassembly procedure.
Install cam (12) .

Note: Grease the spring housing in order to prevent the springs from falling out during installation.
Install springs (11) to distributor (10) .

Install distributor (10) .Note: Install head (5) and keep distributor (10) in place. Hold distributor (10) firmly in place through the top of head (5), while head (5) is installed on the motor.Note: Be careful of the position of the distributor. The distributor (10) has two tangs which must be inserted into the housing of head (5) .

Note: Once seals (7), (8) and (9) have been properly installed, distributor (10) must be installed to head (5). It is necessary to follow this procedure in order to install the distributor to the head correctly. If this procedure is not done correctly, the motor will not rotate correctly.Note: Ears on distributor (10) and notches on head (5) must line up together.Note: Lightly lubricate the seals prior to installation.
Install seals (7), (8), and (9) to head (5) .

Install O-ring seal (6) on head (5) .Note: Hold the distributor inside of the head while the head is being flipped over.Note: Make sure that the head is positioned to the marks from the disassembly procedure.
Install head (5) on the piston motor.

Install bolts (4) to head (5). Torque bolts (4) to 355 35 N m (260 25 lb ft).
