Information:

Pressurized System! The air system contains hot oil under pressure and can cause serious burns, injury or death. Release the air system pressure in order to prevent burns from the sudden release of hot oil.Read and understand the information found in Operation and Maintenance Manual, "System Pressure Release" before performing any maintenance.
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Park the machine on a level surface. Stop the engine.Note: Drain the compressor while the oil is warm. The warm oil will allow waste particles that are suspended in the oil to drain.
Release the air system pressure. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "System Pressure Release".

(3) Filter Bowl
(4) Drain Plug
Remove the drain plug and drain the bowl.
Unscrew and remove the filter bowl from the head assembly. Use a lever on the rotolock ring if necessary.
Remove the filer element from inside the filter bowl and inspect the surface for contamination. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Oil Filter - Inspect".
Discard the filter element and the associated o-ring. Do not attempt to clean the filter element, degradation followed by contamination can occur.Note: DO NOT run the system without a filter element installed.
Check that the O-ring in the head assembly is not damaged. Replace the O-ring if wear or damage is observed.
Check that bypass check valves are closed and undamaged.
Lubricate the O-ring in the head assembly with clean system fluid and push the open end of the filter element into the head assembly.
Clean out the filter bowl and lightly lubricate the threads with clean system fluid.
Screw the filter bowl onto the head assembly until the bowl bottoms. The sealing does not improve with overtightening.

(5) Strainer
(6) Orifice
Clean any strainers and orifices on the scavenger lines.
Start the engine and activate the air compressor. Check for any leaks around the new filter.
Check the sight glass on each strainer to check the fluid flow. There should always be at least a small flow. Sluggish flow at full load indicates the orifice needs to be cleaned and full flow indicates that the separator element should be replaced.
Stop the engine.
