Information:
1. Raise the bowl and place blocking under it.2. Lower the bowl to the blocking.Do not block the bowl any higher than necessary to remove cutting edges. 3. Remove the bolts and remove cutting edges.4. Clean the contact surfaces.5. Use the opposite side of the cutting edges if not worn. The end cutting edges can be exchanged side to side if not worn.6. Install new section if both edges are worn.7. Install the bolts and tighten to the specified torque. See "Torques for Ground Engaging Bolts" chart.8. Raise the bowl and remove the blocks.9. Lower the bowl to the ground.10. After a few hours of operation, Check the bolts for proper torque.Router Bits
Replace if Worn or Damaged
Personal injury or death can result, if the bowl is not blocked up. Block the bowl before changing router bits.
Rotate or change the router bits if damaged or worn excessively. 1. Raise the bowl and place blocking under it.2. Lower the bowl to the blocking.Do not block the bowl any higher than necessary to remove router bits. 3. Remove the bolts and remove router bits.4. Clean the contact surfaces.5. Use the opposite side of the router bits if not worn.6. Install new router bits if both sides are worn.7. Install the bolts and tighten to the specified torque. See "Torques for Ground Engaging Bolts" chart.8. Raise the bowl and remove the blocks.9. Lower the bowl to the ground.10. Clean Screen
Clean the screen anytime there is a pump failure or pump change in the hydraulic system. The screen is located inside the left frame rail. 1. Remove bolts (1) and screen cover (2).2. Inspect the cover seal. Replace if damaged.3. Remove screen. Clean screen and screen cover (2) in a nonflammable solvent.4. Install screen, cover seal, screen cover (2) and bolts (1).Torque Converter Screen

Remove and clean the torque converter screen if the transmission or torque converter is disassembled for any reason. The torque converter sump screen is located under the tractor next to the transmission. 1. Remove drain plug and allow oil to drain into a suitable container.2. Remove four bolts and cover assembly.3. Remove the screen assembly.4. Wash the screen assembly in a clean, nonflammable solvent.5. Clean and install drain plug.6. Install screen, cover assembly and bolts.Elevator Chain
Check
Check the slack of each chain, from the bottom of the elevator frame to the top of the bottom chain loop, midway between the sprocket and the idler. The slack in the chain should be 356 to 457 mm (14.0 to 18.0 in) with not more than 50 mm (2 in) from one chain to the other. Adjust the chain, if necessary.Measure the length of 10 links. If the total length, of the 10 links, exceeds 1079.5 mm (42.5 in) install a new chain. Refer to the Service Manual or consult you Caterpillar dealer for procedures to replace the chain.Adjustment
