The coolant goes through the many long tubes that are inside the cooler (1). After the coolant goes through the tubes, the coolant exits the other end of the cooler to the coolant system.Hot hydraulic oil comes from the torque converter outlet. The oil comes from the torque converter to inlet (2). The oil flows around the coolant tubes inside the cooler. The baffles inside the cooler route the oil through the cooler and the baffles support the tubes. Heat is removed from the oil. The heat is absorbed by the coolant. The hotter coolant now leaves the cooler. The coolant is now cooled by the engine cooling system.
