FORWARDER,
Information:
Warning Category 1
Definition: Only the EMS panel indicator will flash on. Its function is to inform the operator that a machine system needs attention. Malfunction of any of the affected systems will not endanger the operator or cause serious damage to machine components.
If the "BRAKE ON" (Position 7) indicator flashes, it informs the operator that the transmission is in the "NEUTRAL" position, and either one OR BOTH of the following conditions exist.1. The parking brake is engaged.2. The master brake cylinder(s) piston has traveled too far (piston over-stroke).With the parking brake engaged, this indicator should flash during startup. However, once the brake system air pressure reaches 690 kPa (100 psi), the parking brake can be released and cause the indicator to turn off. If releasing the parking brake does NOT cause this indicator to turn off, do NOT operate the machine until the reason for this indicator to flash is corrected.
This machine uses the "BRAKE ON" parking brake indicator to also signal a master brake cylinder over-stroke condition. A master brake cylinder piston that has traveled too far can result from one or more of the following conditions.
1. Low brake fluid level.2. Air in the brake hydraulic circuit.3. Leakage in the brake hydraulic lines.4. Master cylinder piston seal leak.Warning Category 3
Definition: Both the indicator and the ACTION light flash, and the action alarm will sound. This means the operator should stop the machine and shut down the engine IMMEDIATELY to prevent possible injury to the operator and/or cause severe damage to the machine.
If the "BRAKE ON" (Position 7) indicator flashes, it informs the operator that the transmissions is in "NEUTRAL" and either one OR BOTH of the following conditions exist.1. The parking brake is engaged.2. The brake master cylinder(s) piston has traveled too far (piston over-stroke).If this indicator comes on during machine operation and the transmission is in gear, disengage the parking brake. If the ACTION light still flashes and the alarm still sounds, stop the machine and engine immediately and determine the cause for the EMS indication.
Master cylinder piston seal leak.
