Information:
Release the hydraulic system pressure from the boom cylinders. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" in this manual.
Install the pin assembly that holds the stick to the boom.

Disconnect lubrication hose assembly (7) at the rod end of the boom cylinder.

Note: The mounting pin for the boom cylinders does not need to be completely removed from the boom in order to remove the boom cylinders from the boom.
Fasten a suitable lifting device to boom cylinder (10) , as shown.
Remove bolts (8) and retainer plate (9) from the end of the mounting pin.
Remove the boom cylinder support pin from the rod end of the boom cylinder.

Note: Adjust the height of Tooling (A) so that the boom cylinder is level.
Lower boom cylinder (10) onto Tooling (A) . Remove the hoist from the boom cylinder.

Install retainer plate (9) on the boom cylinder support pin. Install the washers and bolts (8) .
Repeat Steps 8 through 13 in order to disconnect the rod end of the other boom cylinder.

Note: Cap all hydraulic lines and cap all hydraulic fittings that are disconnected in order to prevent oil loss. This will also keep contaminants out of the hydraulic system.Note: The amount of hoses that are connected to the boom will vary. Make sure that all of the hoses are disconnected.
Disconnect hose assemblies (11) from the boom.
Disconnect the wiring harness to the boom lights.
Adjust the boom cylinder support pin so that the boom cylinder support pin is centered in the boom.

Fasten a suitable lifting device to boom (12) , as shown. Put slight lifting tension on boom (12) .

Disconnect hose (13) from the back of the main control valve.

Remove retaining bolt (15) and the washer from boom pin (14) .

When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Threaded Rods cannot be used with Hydraulic Cylinders as Tooling.
Make sure that the threaded puller hole in boom pin (14) is clean. Fasten a suitable lifting device to Tooling (B) . Install Tooling (B) on the boom pin.Note: The boom pin must be rotated so that the flange of the boom pin will not interfere with the main control valve or the hydraulic tank.
Use Tooling (B) in order to remove the boom pin so that the flange of the boom pin clears the boss on the main frame. Rotate the boom pin until the flange of the boom pin will clear the main control valve and the hydraulic tank.
Use Tooling (B) in order to remove boom pin (14) until the boom is separated from the upper frame.
Carefully remove boom (12) from the machine. The combined weight of
