This diagnostic code is recorded when the transmission/chassis ECM reads a problem that is internal to the VIMS main module.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The VIMS main module has failed. There are no serviceable parts within the VIMS main module.Note: Ensure that the CID 0800 FMI 12 is active.System Response:The transmission may shift into the NEUTRAL position.Test Step 1. VERIFY THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE IS PRESENT.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Remove connectors J1 and J2 from the ECM and reconnect connectors J1 and J2 to the ECM.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Clear all inactive diagnostic codes.
Operate the machine.
Verify that the CID 0800 FMI 12 is present. Expected Result:The CID 0800 FMI 12 is NOT present.Results:
OK - The diagnostic code is NOT present. The initial diagnostic code was probably caused by a poor electrical connection. This could have been a short at one of the harness connectors that was disconnected and then reconnected.STOP
NOT OK - The diagnostic code is present. The VIMS ECM may have failed.Repair: It is unlikely that the VIMS main module has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this diagnostic code procedure again. If the cause of the problem is not found, replace the VIMS ECM. See Service Manual, SENR6059.STOP
