Procedure For Installing 131-1872 Control Group (resistor)
Illustration 1. Location Of Connectors (1) Forty pin connector. (2) Ten pin connector.1. Remove forty pin Deutch® connector (1) and round ten pin connector (2) from their mating connectors on the fire wall (right side of engine compartment). The ten pin connector is removed to improve access and clearance.

Using a 4C-4074 Contact Removal tool, remove wire number 441 (orange) (4) from pin four (3) of forty pin connector (1).3. Connect the previously removed number 441 (orange) wire (4) into the empty socket of two pin connector (6).4. Connect the new single connector wire (5) from the resistor into the forty pin connector, pin four (3).5. Reconnect the forty and ten pin connectors and secure the new resistor to the cable harness using a cable strap.
