Pilot oil enters track tension manifold (5) through line (4) from the pilot manifold. Check valve (13) prevents pressurized oil from the track tension accumulators from flowing back into line (4). Line (8) supplies the head end of the track tension cylinder with pressurized oil. Line (7) supplies the track tension accumulators with pressurized oil. When the engine is not operating, the track tension accumulators keep the track tension cylinder pressurized. Pressurized oil from the track tension accumulators flows through line (7) into the manifold. The oil flows through the manifold and out through line (8) to the track tension cylinder.If pressure in line (8) gets higher than the track tension relief valve setting of 40000 kPa (5800 psi), spring (11) will compress. Track tension relief valve (6) will open and oil flow will be directed to the hydraulic tank through drain line (3) .To manually release track tension, turn track tension release valve (2) counterclockwise. Turning track tension release valve (2) moves ball (10) off the ball seat. This releases the oil in the track tension cylinder to drain line (3).
