Removal Procedure
Be sure that the engine cannot be started while service work is being done. This is very important when the engine is equipped with an Automatic Start-Stop System. On engines equipped with an air starting system, close the air supply valve that supplies air to the starter motor before service work is begun.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Drain the oil from governor actuator (2).
Disconnect harness assemblies (1) from governor actuator (2).
Disconnect rod assembly (3) from lever (4).
Attach a suitable lifting device to governor actuator (2). The weight of governor actuator (2) is approximately 79 kg (175 lb).
Remove bolts (5) that hold governor actuator (2) to the governor drive.
Lift the governor actuator upward in order to disengage the actuator drive shaft from the coupling.
Remove the O-ring seals and the gasket from the governor drive housing. Installation Procedure

Put the O-ring seals and the gasket in position on the governor drive housing.

Do not force the governor into position in the coupling
Attach a suitable lifting device to governor actuator (2). The weight of governor actuator (2) is approximately 79 kg (175 lb).
Align the splines on the actuator drive shaft with the coupling in the governor drive and install governor actuator (2) on the governor drive.
Install bolts (5).
Connect rod assembly (3) to lever (4).
Connect harness assemblies (1) to governor actuator (2).
Fill the governor actuator with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Governor Actuator Oil - Replace" for the proper quantity and fluid.
Adjust the governor actuator linkage. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Adjusting the Governor Linkage".
