Be sure that the taper of the front suspension cylinder is free of dirt, burrs and foreign material. Position a suitable lifting sling around the axle. Attach the lifting sling to a suitable hoist. Position the axle below the front suspension cylinder.
Apply 4C-5593 Anti-Seize Compound to the taper of front suspension cylinder. Install the spindle to the front suspension cylinder. The weight of the spindle is 179 kg (395 lb).

The following procedure is used to determine the required amount of shims.
Install plate (22), two bolts (23) and the hard washers so that bolts (23) are opposite of each other, as shown. Tighten bolts (23) to a torque of 170 20 N m (125 15 lb ft).
Use Tool (C) in order to measure the distance between plate (22) and the bottom of the taper on the front suspension cylinder.
Subtract 3.00 0.03 mm (0.1181 0.0012 inch) from the measurement that was determined in Step 3.b. The thickness of shims must be equal to this total dimension. Note: The thickness of the shims must not be less than 0.63 mm (0.025 inch).

Install the required thickness of shims (21) that were determined in Step 3.c to the spindle. Install plate (22), the hard washers and four bolts (23) to the spindle. Tighten bolts (23) to a torque of 1085 35 N m (800 25 lb ft). Note: A clearance of 0.00-0.13 mm (0.000-0.005 inch) should exist between the shims and plate (22) after installation.
