Additionally, there may be a question about where to install the shims. First, install two shims on the cap and two shims on the rod or cylinder. Next, install an insert in the cap and an insert in the rod or cylinder. Thus, the shims are next to both sockets. See illustration. There are four shims and two inserts at each end of the cylinder.
