Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Drain the hydraulic oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedure.

Position the lift arms on Tooling (A) as shown in Illustration 1.

Remove plate (1) and access panel (2).

Disconnect hose assemblies (3) that are connected to the cylinder that is being removed.
Disconnect tube assemblies (5) at the base of the cylinder.
Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and tube assemblies (5) from bracket (4). Remove bracket (4).

Place suitable cribbing underneath lift cylinder (7). Attach suitable lifting device to Tooling (B). The weight of Tooling (B) is approximately 36 kg (79 lb). Use Tooling (B) to remove pin assembly (6). Remove pin assembly (6).

Remove bolt (8) from pin assembly (9).

Attach a suitable lifting device to lift cylinder (7). The weight of lift cylinder (7) is approximately 169 kg (372 lb).
Attach suitable lifting device to Tooling (B). The weight of Tooling (B) is approximately 36 kg (79 lb). Use Tooling (B) to remove pin assembly (9). Remove pin assembly (9).
Remove lift cylinder (7).Installation Procedure

Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 367 40 N m (271 29 lb ft).
Lightly lubricate the sealing lips of seals (2), (3) and (4) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Tighten piston (5) to a torque of 10500 500 N m (7744 369 lb ft).
Tighten setscrew (6) to a torque of 56.9 5.69 N m (41.96 4.19 lb ft).
