Clean oil, grease, water, and sealant off mounting surfaces and threads.Note: The drive side must be assembled first.

Position the drum (1) with the weld boss (2) at the 6 o'clock position.

Install Tooling (A) on the drive side of the drum.Note: In order to use Tooling (A) the hex head must be removed.
Apply Tooling (D) on the threads of the 16 8T-4187 Bolts and corresponding bolt holes. Tooling (D) should cover two threads of the bolt and the threaded holes.

Clean the machined surface of the eccentric weight (4) . Carefully position the o-ring seal (3) along the radius of the eccentric weight housing. Ensure that the seal is straight with no twist.

Install o-ring (5) to splined eccentric weight shaft (6) . Apply 50 mL (1.7 oz) of Tooling (E) to both ends of the connecting shaft (7) .
Assemble connecting shaft (7) on the splined eccentric weight shaft (6) .Note: If the drum is being assembled vertically, the eccentric weight shafts, must be aligned with the "T" symbols in the 12 o'clock position during assembly. If the drum is assembled horizontally, the eccentric weights will self align.

Using Tooling (C) position the eccentric weight (4) in the drum with the notch (6) at the 12 o'clock position. The approximate weight of the eccentric weight (4) is 350 kg (771.6 lb).Note: The notch (6) should be 180° from the weld boss (2) .
Install the eccentric weight (4) over tooling (A) on the drum with 14 8T-4187 Bolts and tighten to 54 27 N m (40 20 lb ft) in a star pattern.
Remove Tooling (C) and (A) . Install the remaining 8T-4187 Bolts and torque all 16 bolts to 460 60 N m (339 44 lb ft).
Repeat steps 3 through 10 for the opposite side of the drum.
Fill the eccentric weight housings with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Eccentric Weight Housing - Change".
Allow Tooling (D) to cure for 24 hours.
Fill the drum cavity with cooling oil. Refer to Operation Maintenance Manual, , "Drum Cooling Oil - Change".End By:
Install the final drive planetary (drum propel). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive Planetary (Drum Propel) - Install".
Install the vibratory support. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Vibratory Support - Install".

Install the vibratory support. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Vibratory Support - Install".
