Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (2), valve cover (1), and the seal.

Disconnect harness assembly (4) from transformer (3).Note: Some engines have a hold-down that must be removed from the transformer.
Lift transformer (3) out of the cylinder head.

Remove O-ring seal (5) from transformer (3).
Remove the spark plug from the cylinder head.
Repeat the steps for the remaining valve covers and the spark plugs.Installation Procedure

Inspect the condition of the seals and the gaskets. Replace the seals and the gaskets, if necessary.
Install the spark plug in the cylinder head.

Typical example of an exposed electrode spark plug.
For spark plugs with exposed electrodes tighten to a torque of 68 4 N m (50 3 lb ft)

Typical example of a prechamber electrode spark plug.
For spark plugs with prechamber electrodes tighten to a torque of 50 4 N m (37 3 lb ft)

Install new O-ring seal (5) on transformer (3).

Set transformer (3) in the cylinder head. Push down slightly to seat transformer (3).
Connect harness assembly (4) to transformer (3).

Install the seal and valve cover (1) on the cylinder head.
Install bolts (2).
