Remove the rocker shaft and the pushrods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Remove".

Remove retainers (3), washers (2), and outer rocker arms (4) from both ends of the rocker shaft assembly. The washers are used as shims. Count the washers and record the number of washers for the assembly of the rocker shaft. Make sure that dowel (1) is free of oil.

Put Tool (A) in position on dowel (1). Pull rocker arm (6) away from bracket assembly (5). Remove the dowel with tooling (A). Remove bracket assembly (5) .

Remove rocker arms (9), spring (8), and brackets (7). Use Tool (A) and remove the dowel that holds bracket assembly (6) on the rocker shaft.

Remove nuts (10) and screws (11) from the rocker arms if a replacement is necessary.

Remove plug (12) from rocker shaft (13) if a replacement is necessary.
