and the current sensor.Check the power supply connections at Terminal Block 1.If required, replace the power supply cable to resolve the problem.STOPTest Step 4. CHECK THE CURRENT SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPENThe engine lockout control switch remains in the OFF position. The harness connector for the M2C CT current sensor remains disconnected.
Turn the engine lockout control switch to the ON position.
Verify that the key start switch is in the OFF position. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Remove the cabinet compartment cover from the compartment that contains the Motor 2 ECM.
Disconnect the harness connector J2 from the Motor 2 ECM.
Check the continuity of the sensor positive (+) circuit wire 1W2-BK(Black)by measuring the resistance between the ECM connector contact J2-32 and the sensor connector contact "3". While observing the resistance measurement, wiggle both connectors.
Check the continuity of the sensor negative (-) circuit wire 1W2N-BK(Black)by measuring the resistance between the ECM connector contact J2-7 and the sensor connector contact "4". While observing the resistance measurement, wiggle both connectors.Expected Result:The end to end resistance measurement of each of the current sensor signal circuits are less than 5.0 ohms always during the manipulation of the connectors. Results:
OK - The resistance measurements are indicating that there is not an open circuit or a poor connection in either of the current sensor circuits. Proceed to the Test Step 6.
NOT OK - At least one of the resistance measurements between the end contacts of the current sensor circuits is greater than 5.0 ohms always or when the connectors are manipulated. There is an open circuit or a poor connection in the signal circuit that measures the high resistance.Repair: Check the connectors in the circuits. Ensure that there is no contamination or damage to the connectors that could cause an open or a poor connection. If no connector problems are found, replace the shielded twisted-pair cable that is used to connect the current sensor signal circuits.STOPTest Step 5. CHECK THE CURRENT SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORTThe key start switch and the battery disconnect switch remain in the OFF position. The harness connectors for the M2C CT current sensor remains disconnected. The J2 harness connector for the ECM remains disconnected.
At the harness connector J2, measure the resistance between the sensor signal (+) contact J2-32 (wire IW2-BK(Black)) and a good cabinet ground contact point. Measure the resistance between the sensor signal (+) contact J2-32 (wire IW2-BK(Black)) and all the other circuit contacts that are used in the J2 harness connector. Ensure that the signal circuit is not shorted to the grounded shield wire at contact J2-19.
At the harness connector J2, measure the resistance between the sensor signal (-) contact J2-7 (wire IW2N-BK(Black)) and a good cabinet ground contact point. Measure the resistance between the sensor signal (-) contact J2-7 (wire IW2N-BK(Black)) and all the other circuit contacts that are used in the J2 harness connector. Ensure that the signal circuit is not shorted to the grounded shield wire at contact J2-19.Expected Result:Each resistance measurement between the sensor signal circuits, cabinet ground,
